I am looking to take my father in law for a round of golf on the weekend. Any recommendations on something that is a good balance between price and crowding. I'm up for anything up to $100 a head for a greens fee, though I'd love something less expensive.

Shoreline is a great course (a links course)! Great food and people as well!

It is 54 per person unless you can get residence rates which is 38 dollars :)

The second link is a course in San Jose and is cheaper but not as nice.

I've played COyote Creek Golf Club several times. There are 2 courses - I have played the Valley, which goes up into the hills. It's a beautiful club and moderately challenging. PGA holds a few tournaments here. If you play during the week its less than $100 - on weekends its a little over $100.

Coyote Creek is located in South San Jose.
